William T. Denning
Tyler Denning practices in our Farmington office. He received his Bachelors of Science degree, magna cum laude, in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Texas Tech University in 2002. He graduated in 2005 from Texas Tech University School of Law where he received the Jurisprudence Award for excellence in Anatomy of a Trial and International Environmental Law classes. While in law school he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Tech Journal of Texas Administrative Law and worked as a Legal Clerk for the Lubbock City Attorney's Office.
Mr. Denning is licensed in Colorado and New Mexico. Prior to joining Miller Stratvert he worked for a private law firm in Roswell, New Mexico where he gained valuable experience in general civil litigation. He has also served as an Assistant District Attorney in Roswell and Gunnison, Colorado.
Mr. Denning's practice areas include insurance defense, civil litigation, commercial litigation and environmental law.
Tomas J. Garcia
Mr. Garcia is another New Mexico native. He received his B.A., from Yale University in 2005, his M.P.P. (Master of Public Policy) from Harvard in 2008 and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2011. At Harvard, Mr. Garcia was the Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Journal of Hispanic Policy and in law school he was the Notes Editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. He is author of “Jurisdictional Discord in Applying Ethics Guidelines to Inadvertently Transmitted Metadata”, 23 GEO. J. LEGAL ETHICS 585 (2010). Mr. Garcia is now a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of New Mexico.
Mr. Garcia is currently admitted to practice in New Mexico state court. His areas of practice include Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Professional Liability and Workers’ Compensation.
Joshua L. Smith
Mr Smith was raised on a ranch in the boot heel of New Mexico and grew up in the agricultural community. He developed a strong work ethic and an understanding of the importance of water in the Southwest which motivated him to pursue a career in law. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from New Mexico State University, where he graduated in 2003 with a major in Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Business. He earned his law degree from Texas Tech University in 2007, where his additional coursework focused on Agricultural Law, Business Entities and Water Law. He is currently working on his Masters of Science degree in Agricultural Economics at New Mexico State University.
Mr. Smith practices in the Las Cruces office in the areas of civil litigation, natural resources law and water law & water rights. He is a member of Delta Theta Phi, a professional law fraternity, and the National Agri-Marketing Association.
